Day 90 Walk Quebec City

Sat., Aug. 17

Walk Quebec City

We drove to the ferry terminal in Levis and parked all day for $8.  The ferry is $3.25 each way to walk on and it goes every ½ hour until 2 am.  We walked through old Quebec and up to the Chateau Frontenac along the Governor’s Walk to the Citadel.  The Citadel is a historic fortress and since 1920 home to the Royal 22nd Regiment which is the only all French regiment in the Canadian Armed Forces therefore only guided tours are allowed on the base. ($10/adult)

Their Motto
We had lunch at one of the outdoor cafes.  Walked around the Parliament buildings to see all the statues.  Back to Chateau Frontenac where the Buskers were entertaining the tourists then down to old Quebec.  Love those narrow streets, old buildings and all the shops and even a small church where a wedding was happening.  A 10 minute ferry ride and we’re back at the truck on the other side of the St. Lawrence.  In the evening there were fireworks off a ferry in the middle of the St. Lawrence.  We just watched them from a park on the Levis side.

We remember this Restaurant from 1999
