Day 76 Doyles, NL to North Sydney, NS

Sat., Aug. 3

Doyles, NL to North Sydney, NS

I think 12 days in Newfoundland is not enough but it was wonderful.  We left a little later since we were told the ferry would be late.  It was cool and the odd sprinkle at the terminal.  It was packed when we arrived.  People waiting in nearby parking lots to get there first thing in the morning in hopes of getting on this ferry.  The ferry left about an hour late.   It was a very smooth crossing.  While we were in the dining room a lady started pointing and we saw dolphins near the ferry going the other way.  Later we decided to sit in the lounge at the front of the ferry and saw more dolphins jumping, this time swimming in front of the ferry.
Winds can exceed 160 km and blow over semis!
Port aux Basque
They must have put the pedal to the medal because we crossed in 4.5 hours.  On the way to Newfoundland it too about 7 hours!  Nova Scotia was nice, sunny and warm.
