Visit Moncton, NB
Perfect day to walk around and parking is free, the Super Store is across the street from the walkway along the river. We walked 2.5 km along the river then headed up a few blocks to walk the historic part of town. The first building we stopped at is now a Federal Building but used to be a Canada Post Office. The post office teller’s stations were still there with marks in the floor where people stood. The old safe is still down the hall.
The first church we saw, a Catholic church that took up most of a city
block. A few blocks away we found the
historic church corner where 3 out of 4 corners have a church on it. The churches are all different but
amazing. We found another church that
was for sale. A few blocks away was
another church the oldest in town.

We love checking out old historic houses with their wrap around porches. While looking for a house we came upon some
guys that had just moved an old house and were putting a basement under it.

Stopped at a corner grocer/bakery/sushi coffee place to sit outside and
enjoy a coffee and some fresh baking.
The clerk spoke fluent French and then switched to English when serving
us. As we walked by City Hall a CTV reporter was interviewing the city’s
Tourism Director. We were stopped and
asked about our visit to Moncton and were later on the 6 pm news and the late
news.
It was just about Tidal Bore time again so we walked to the bridge over a creek
called Settlers Landing to watch the Bore.
While waiting we could see in the distance a rain cloud was coming our
way. The fog rolled in and we did get
some rain but the wind blew it sideways.
It was ominous to watch this cloud coming for us but not making it to
the edge of the river. A few minutes
later the sun was back and the river sparkling. The Pump House Brewery is a great place to stop for a brew and/or lunch. It was down an alley off Main Street. In the evening we went to the Casino for a $9.99 buffet dinner. Signing up as a member gets you reduced buffet prices. But while waiting for a table we gambled, a little! To end the evening we drove by Magnetic Hill, put the truck in neutral and it backed up the hill. Really!! Just a note, New Brunswick is truly Bi-Lingual and promotes itself that way.
