Great
Falls to West Yellowstone, MT
Heading out on Interstate 15 to the state capital of Montana. Very scenic drive especially when we got into the Big Belt Mountains. Lots of fly fisher people on the Missouri River and smaller creeks. Shouldn’t they be at work! We stopped in Helena to see the impressive Capitol Building built about 1889-1899. There is a one hour tour of the city but we just missed it so we walked from the Capitol Building to the Cathedral of St Helena. This church was completed in 1914 and modeled after a church in Vienna, Austria with the stained glass windows made in Munich, Germany.
Decided to take the scenic route to West Yellowstone via Hwy 287 and then 191. Some road construction with very little delays. In a field I saw what I thought was a horse and colt then realized it was moose so again the camera wasn’t ready. That would have been a nice shoot. A little farther down the road we saw a bull moose but too late for pictures.
Arrived at the KOA, set up and walked around to check it
out. A pool with a hot tub inside a
building. So you know where we were
after dinner. A gorgeous sunset tonight.
