Day 11 - 14 Visiting in Medicine Hat

May 30 to June 2   Visiting in Medicine Hat

Thursday

It poured during the night, I could hardly sleep with all the pounding on the roof.  When it stopped raining, it was dropping from the trees.  Today I bought some ear plugs so I am prepared for the next time.  Basically we spent the morning relaxing then dropped off the truck for some scheduled maintenance and walked from mall to mall for two hours.  We were in one mall for 1/2 hour and when we came out everything was soaked.  We missed that little storm.  The sun came out and the rest of the day was great.  We stopped at the bike store again and traded in my bike and got one for Dylan's birthday.  Will pick them up tomorrow.  Dinner with Kevin's family.  Then a trip to the park with the kids and back to the RV.

Friday

Started the day with Kylie and I going for a pedicure.  Then we went for lunch at Weenies, gourmet hot dogs.  From there it was off to Layla's favourite Butterfly Gardens and some very interesting butterflies.  Back to their house and to the park.  Layla loves being pushed on the swings and going higher.  Dylan not so much, he doesn't like heights.  Pizza dinner and back to the campsite.  Lots of deer near the campsite since it backs onto green space.  Took the bikes out for a spin and enjoyed a fire to end the evening!

We got to attend Layla's ballet class, 5 little ballerinas.  Very cute practising for their recital in two weeks.  Off to the farmers market, lots of flower baskets, fresh veggies, crafts and flavoured pop corn and the tasty beef jerky.  We decided to give Dylan his bike a day early so we could go out to the park and practise riding with training wheels.

Sunday

Today is Dylan's 6th birthday and he is all excited for his party.  Party at the YMCA with a big air slide/jungle jim, I even attempted it.  The afternoon was spent visiting with the kids then dinner at The Cheesecake Café, my kind of place.  The Bogaert's arrived and were all set up.  We were planning a fire but it started to rain about 9 pm so we sat inside and chatted.  About 10 pm we made our call to Tokyo, Japan to talk to Mark in hospital.  He was admitted about 5 days ago.  It was pretty serious, can't get into details now but he is improving and we hope they fly home by the end of the week.
